Yes! Free parking is available behind the building. The entrance to the parking lot is from Farragut Avenue. 

All appointments are 55-minutes, one-on-one with the Board Certified Doctor of Physical Therapy.

It is ideal to wear loose, comfortable clothing, and supportive/athletic footwear. Please refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes.

The initial appointment will include an assessment of your concern, medical history and physical therapy evaluation and treatment. Follow up appointments will always include assessment and evaluation to guide next steps in treatment.

Attuned Physical Therapy is a fee-for-service clinic and does not participate in commercial insurance plans. 

Some insurance plans offer reimbursement to the policy holder for services provided by out-of-network practitioners. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to learn the details of your plan – each plan is different. 

You should ask: 

• Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient physical therapy?
• Do I need prior authorization or pre-approval before starting care?
• What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it is left?
• What is my coinsurance percentage after I meet the deductible?
• What is the allowed amount or usual and customary rate for these visits?
• Is there a limit on how many visits I can have each year?

If you intend to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, I will provide you with a superbill with the necessary diagnostic and treatment codes.

Attuned Physical Therapy is enrolled with Medicare as a Non-Participating Provider.  Attuned Physical Therapy can treat Medicare beneficiaries and will comply with all applicable Medicare regulations. Attuned Physical Therapy does not accept Medicare "assignment", which means that  payment is due at the time of service. Claims for covered Medicare services are submitted on the patient's behalf, and any Medicare reimbursement is paid directly to the patient.

Medicare covers a portion of outpatient physical therapy services that are medically necessary, require the skills of a licensed physical therapist, and meet Medicare coverage guidelines. Services that are considered wellness, fitness, maintenance without skilled intervention, or otherwise not medically necessary may not be covered.

Generally, no - you do not need a referral. Maryland is a 'direct access' state, where physical therapists can evaluate and treat without a referral. However, some insurance companies require a referral for reimbursement.  It is best to check in advance if you are submitting for out-of-network reimbursement.

If you are covered by Medicare, you will need to identify a physician who can certify the plan of care.

We recommend starting with 2-3 appointments 1 week apart. Unlike ‘standard’ physical therapist who often see patients 2-3 times per week,  working one-on-one, we can be more attentive and responsive to the patient during each session. As treatment progresses, the physical therapist and patient collaborate on how and when to taper off frequency of treatments and conclude treatment.

When filling out your intake forms, you will be prompted to enter a credit card to be kept on file in our scheduling and electronic medical record software, Jane App. Keeping a card on file protects your information and saves time. Other modes of payment may be considered on a case by case basis.
